Jeremiah Tillman

My primary interests are moral psychology and ethics broadly construed. Lately I've been exploring the normative and temporal significance of love, regret, affirmation, and grief. My research in these topics is informed by my interests in literature, the arts, and historical figures in ancient Greek and 19th and 20th century European philosophy, e.g., Plato, Kierkegaard, and Nietzsche. Before joining the University of Maryland, I studied philosophy at Bard College and The New School for Social Research. At Maryland, I have taught courses in contemporary moral issues and existentialism.
